How to Enter:

First: Link to http://AsktheTechies.com from a web page you manage or from a blog, comments section on a blog or forum ...basically anywhere someone can click on the link to our web page.

Second: E-mail contest@askthetechies.com with the internet address where you posted the link (along with your name and address so we can verify you individually as the one who posted the link, ensure that you get credit, and know where to mail the slingbox when you win!).

Third: We'll keep track of the number of individuals who come to AsktheTechies.com by clicking on your link (this will be tracked by IP address, so no use cheating by clicking on the link 1,000 times to fake the results).

Fourth: You can enter more than once! Just link to AsktheTechies.com again on a different web location and then send us the link with the exact same contact information as used in your previous post (in order to combine your entries to up your total score). You can create and send in as many links/entries as you want - we will total up the number of actual people who have clicked on all of your links.

Just linking doesn't win, people have to click on your link. Making your link noticed will increase your chances of winning. See our support page for Ask the Techies images to help get your link noticed!

Note that, each week, we will be listing the top five contestants below by using their first name and city (for example, "Tim of Vancouver, BC"). If you are not in the top five, keep posting! -- the contest doesn't end until 11:59pm, Friday, May 2, 2008. If you would like us to use a more anonymous name in our Top 5 listing, please indicate an appropriate alternative screen name in your e-mail.

RULES:

The prize is the very same Slingbox that was reviewed on camera for Ask the Techies (while used, it is still in new and operating condition) mailed, for free, to the address listed on your entry. Ask the Techies L.L.C., retains the rights, in its absolute and sole discretion, to make substitutions of equivalent kind or approximate value in the event of the unavailability of any prize or component of the prize for any reason whatsoever (only likely if our Slingbox breaks in the meantime or would become stolen).

Must be 18 years of age or older (kids, you can get your parents to make the entries for you ...but you might have to share the Slingbox with them ;-) }. For electrical & postage reasons, contestants must be in the USA or Canada to enter and win. Anyone who has been affiliated with the production of Ask the Techies (staff, hosts, etc..) is not eligible. All entries must be complete with link, contestants name, address, and valid e-mail. Contestants can enter as many web addresses where they have linked to AsktheTechies.com as they would like. Attemps to cheat will invalidate all entries by the cheater.

In cases where Ask the Techies is linked to multiple times, such as on a blog or forum, only the first entry e-mailed to contest@askthetechies.com will count. People who right click and open the link to AsktheTechies.com in a new window will not count.

AsktheTechies.com staff will use referral links, along with IP addresses, to determine the largest number of referrals (i.e., the winner). Contest is held from April 4, 2008 through May 2, 2008. Item will be shipped within three weeks of contest closing (probably much sooner).
